Ray started in the insurance industry as a life agent in 1978. It was his job to recruit and retain clients. He put in a lot of long hours, and a lot of hard work to learn the intricacies of the insurance business. In this way, he learned to do what was right for the client.

As time went by, Ray was promoted to management and became a GA. His job was to recruit and train new agents, open new offices, and make sure that the quality and stability of the product being written remained the same. He accomplished those goals, leading a national company until 1996. That's when Ray got into property and casualty, which he had also used in the past to help fund the life and retirement policies he underwrote.

Ray came to work in Cobleskill at Firemark Insurance Agency in 2000. He's been here ever since, and now owns the agencies.

Ray combined three agencies into one. With a lot of product variation, the powerhouse agency now has a great product line to handle corporate and private insurance needs. His goal has always been to meet the needs of his clients at the least expense, and with the best protection.

Ray is a NYS licensed property and casualty broker, as well as a life, health and retirement agent. Ray is owner and operator of Firemark Insurance Agency Corp. and Lewis Wilson Insurance.

He is a Director at Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) and a member of Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America Association (BIG I); Ray is also a community minded individual, active in Schoharie County organizations. He is married and has seven children and fifteen grandchildren that he adores.
